Description
A stylised bundle with a stylised head. False linen ears and painted facial features in black and red are evident, although there is some damage to the face. The body of the bundle is wrapped in linen strips bound adjacent to one another.
Radiographs show a complete and articulated skeleton of Felis silvestris libyca (wildcat), which has become compressed due to tight bandaging. CT indicates a mature individual based on the lack of growth plates and small dimensions of the bundle. It is possible that the growth plates may have become detached (may be present, but not in correct anatomical position), due to the level of compression applied to the animal remains by the linen. The individual appears articulated and complete, although there may be some damage to the skull.
