AEABB78
Description
A complete cat mummy bundle in the classic 'skittle' shape with a modelled head, false ears and facial features. A collar of linen strips is visible and a square lozenge design is created on the upper aspect of the body.
Radiographs show incomplete animal remains consisting of a single feline vertebra and radio-opaque patches. The head and body are completely modelled from linen. CT shows that aside from the single vertebra visible in radiographs, the only other skeletal material present in this cat mummy are unidentifiable fragments. The heavy use of linen is highlighted to create the bundle shape and structure, and accounts for its slightly 'bendy' level of preservation.
