Description
A crocodile mummy shaped bundle with a very dark layer of linen on the outer aspect.

Radiographs show a complete mummy bundle containing no skeletal material. There are two radiodense areas and the end of the tail has become detached, but is present. Longitudinally placed material, likely reeds, create the length and form of the bundle. CT shows the highlighted anomalies in the radiographs appear to be of two different origins: the larger and more central appears to be stone- or ceramic-like in shape and radiodensity, and is lying between the reeds and outer packing; the other is more granular and is placed behind the modelled head of the crocodile mummy, much like other crocodile mummies from this site. A further anomaly is visible on top of the head, acting as a false eye and is perhaps constructed of resin-soaked linen.
