Description
Plain and tightly wrapped complete bird mummy bundle. The beak is exposed and intact and appears to be in an unusual position compared with other bird mummy bundles.
Complete and articulated skeleton of a Falco tinnunculus (Kestrel). The head has been pushed down onto the chest in a unusual position. CT shows there is no visible brain matter in the cranial cavity. There is evidence for residual internal organ matter in abdominal cavity. This inidividual was mummified in toto-air voides visible in the wing and tail feathers before being wrapped tightly in linen. The amount of linen coverage over the bird remains is quite low.
