Description
An unwrapped mummy bundle through an upper aspect incision. The inner layer of bandages are darker, whilst the outer layers are lighter. 35-40 layers are estimated. The distal end is relatively well preserved, with a diamond lozenge pattern visible on the exterior towards the false feet. The remains of a bird of prey are contained within the linen. Some feathers are evident and some soft tissue is preserved, indicating this individual was mummified in toto.

Radiographs show the partially disarticulated and incomplete remains of Falco tinnunculus (Kestrel). Bird remains are missing from the distal ends of the tarsometatarsus (with multiple fractures on RHS; clean on LHS) downwards. Both wings appear articulated, possibly articulated to the spinal column and ribs, although there is a clean break in the cervical vertebrae, separating the head from the body. CT No brain matter is visible in cranial cavity. There is possibly some evidence for residual internal organ matter in the abdominal cavity. CT confirms the level of disarticulation described in the radiographs and it is evident that tail feathers are preserved within the linen. This further confirms the individual was mummified in toto.
